Why I offer bespoke freelance services instead of packages

Some freelancer designers offer fixed service packages. This can look like tiered options, structured sessions, or pre-defined deliverables. But I take a different approach.

I don’t offer set packages. Instead, I provide bespoke, flexible freelance services tailored to my client’s needs. Here’s why and how this approach benefits the businesses I work with.

Packages can be very helpful, but they’re not right for everyone

Service packages can offer clarity, structure, and predictable pricing. For many clients and projects, that works well.

But, in my experience, they don’t always suit the type of clients I typically work with.

Challenges, goals, and priorities can be unique, and needs can often evolve. A pre-defined service can sometimes feel like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

That’s why I take a more flexible approach to delivering my freelance services.

Why I choose not to offer service packages

From my personal experience:

  • Packages don’t always match a client’s brief or expectations. Business needs are often more nuanced than a fixed offer allows.

  • They can be too prescriptive. When everything is pre-defined, it can sometimes limit flexibility and creativity.

  • I like to offer tailored support. I prefer to shape the work around your business rather than asking you to fit into a pre-built structure.

For me, flexibility leads to better collaboration and outcomes for you.

What I offer instead: tailored, flexible support

Rather than asking you to choose a tier or pre-designed service, I start by understanding you. We'll chat about your goals, challenges, and priorities (amongst other things!). From there, we'll create an approach that fits your business, how you work and how we'll work together.

This means:

  • Support shaped around your needs

  • Flexibility if/when your project evolves

  • A collaborative, personalised experience

  • Solutions designed for your business

Is this approach right for you?

Bespoke freelance support may be a good fit if:

  • Your business needs don’t fit standard service tiers

  • You want flexible, responsive support

  • Your project is evolving or complex

  • You value a tailored, collaborative approach

Sound good?

If this approach sounds like a good fit for you too, you can explore my services. Or feel free to get in touch for a chat about how I can support you.
